MIS Department Policy & Procedure
Changing a User Password or Creating a User
There are three applications associated with a user in JDE. They are: User Profiles, User Security, and Administrative Password Revisions.
For a user to log onto the system they need:
1) A User Profile - User Profiles Application
2) Valid User Security - User Security Application
3) A Valid Password - Administrative Password Revisions Application
4) Role Security - Work with Role Relationships
If a user has forgot their password or you need to create a new user, use these three applications in order to verify that their account is correctly setup. To troubleshoot a user password start with the Administrative Password Revisions application and work backwards. This is the easiest and most successful method.
When creating a user account you must start with the User Profile application and move down the list.

b. Select the “Copy” option at the top of the screen.
c. Type the desired user name in the User ID field.
d. Assign the appropriate Address Book number for the new user.
e. Click “OK”
2) Compare the properties of the profile to another user in the same group.

Address Book Revisions - Search for employee
Click Row and Choose Who's Who
Check Employee Name, Click Row and Choose Email/Internet
Row 1 - Email Address -> [employee city email address] -> 1 (Messaging Indicator) -> leave blank (Electronic Address Category)
